Dr. Marla Bigel, Ph.D., C.Psych.

Neuropsychologist

After earning her Ph.D. in Psychology (Behavioural Neuroscience program), Dr. Bigel completed her clinical training in neuropsychology, a specialized area of psychology that focuses on the relationship between the brain and the way we think, learn and behave. Her training included an internship at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children, both world-renowned pediatric facilities in Toronto. Since 2002 she has worked as a clinical neuropsychologist in both hospital and private practice settings. In this role Dr. Bigel evaluated children and adolescents from ages 5 to 19 with a wide range of neurological, developmental, medical and genetic conditions that can affect thinking, learning, behaviour and social-emotional adjustment.

At The Oak Centre, Dr. Bigel provides comprehensive neuropsychological and psychoeducational assessments for a wide range of concerns and is committed to helping parents better understand what might be going on with their child or teen in a collaborative, respectful and supportive way.

Education: Ph.D. in Psychology (Behavioural Neuroscience Program), License with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with specific focus on Clinical Neuropsychology with children and adolescents.
